My husband and I will be flying to Seattle for a long weekend in April. What should we make it a point to see

We have never been to Seattle - or Washington State before. We don't have an unlimited budget but want to have a nice time. We have heard good things about Leavenworth, and I am sure we will see the Space Needle too, but would love some ideas for things that we should try to do or see. Thanks very much!My husband and I will be flying to Seattle for a long weekend in April. What should we make it a point to see
1. Pike Place Market

2. Take a ferry ride. You can walk on one of the downtown ferries, get off on Bainbridge Island and wander there for a while and then take a ferry back.

3. Ballard Locks and fish ladder. There probably won't be much fish going through the fish ladder at that time of year, but the locks are worth the visit.

4.Leavenworth is a 3 hour drive from Seattle - a nice ';Bavarian Village'; kind of thing. If you go, plan on it taking you a long, full day.

5. Pacific Science Center is good if you are with kids. Otherwise, look at the EMP, Seattle Art Museum or Seattle Asian Art Museum instead.

6. The Underground tour is an interesting one through the Pioneer Square area. I also like the little ';National Park'; museum about Seattle's role in the Gold Rush also located in Pioneer Square.

7. The Space Needle is worth it on a clear day. If it's raining, don't bother. It will only be an expensive trip up to look at the clouds.

Further afield - Mount Rainier is a lovely drive, the San Juan Islands are great too (drive to Anacortes and take the ferry from there). You can take whale watching tours from Anacortes or Friday Harbor if you are interested.

Have a great trip!My husband and I will be flying to Seattle for a long weekend in April. What should we make it a point to see

Seattle's a really cool city. The aquarium is awesome. If you're in to museums the Pacific Science Center is awesome as well. Eat seafood while you are there, the space needle is pretty cool too.
1. Underground Tour in Pioneer Square

2. Gold Rush museum in Pioneer Square

3. Pike Place Market

4. Seattle Art Museum (SAM)

5. Troll that ';lives'; under the bridge in Fremont

6. Kubota Gardens in Renton (will be GORGEOUS in April), or Bellevue Botanical Garden, or Seattle Arboretum

7. Bruce %26amp; Brandon Lee's graves in Lake View Cemetery

8. Jimi Hendrix's grave in Renton (don't know the name of the cemetery)

9. Experience Music Project at Seattle Center

10. Don't go up in the Needle if it's cloudy...waste of money

11. Museum of Flight at Boeing Field

12. Woodland Park Zoo

You don't say what your interests are but I hope this gives you some good ideas. April is a very nice time to visit...everything will be in bloom. Bring rain coats, though.
Fishermans Wharf and a ride to Bremerton and back on the Ferry. I could be up to my neck in gold and I would still rather do that than anything else up that way. Puget Sound and a Ferry ride is sooooooo relaxing. Ask anyone down there about the Ferry schedules. Bremerton is not exactly a touristy place, but its just a nice trip. Great food, shops, antiques on the wharf in Seattle.
you totaly have to see Pikes st. place! and of course the space needle (though it cost money to go up,,which is stupid) and the science center....hmmm....theres more but I can't really think of any...
kurt cobeins grave and a sonics game (they will be moving to oklahoma city next year)
very important that you see the ground in Seattle.
Hi. I would suggest visiting nearby Tacoma, and go to the Chihuly museum of glass, walk in the Chihuly glass bridge, and see the new Tacoma art museum. Also the Washington State historic society at the old Pacific Sation in Pacific Ave. All these sights are within walking distance of ea. other, so makes a good day trip. then go eat at El Gaucho Restaurant, also close by, an excellent Argentinean style steak house. then take a walk about the new promenade, next to the glass museum in front of the water. after that, go shop at the Freight Station? an old railroad house turn to small biz shops. is behind the bus station.
