We are not familiar with Riverside, Wyoming, but my husband has been offered a job there. Can anyone tell us about Riverside? We live now in a suburban area of Atlanta, biracial neighborhood and we love where we live, are there areas in Riverside like this or nearby? We are looking to move to wyoming and my husband has been offered a job in Wyoming?
The snow in Wyn doesn't melt, it wears out. The entire state is at an average alt of 6000 ft, a lot closer to the jet stream, year round, so understand this, the wind always blows, It has been known to topple 18 wheelers on I-80. People watch snow getting blown through the keyholes on the front door. They call it a ground blizzard. It snows every month of the year, cept maybe July. Thats the good news. Get an indoor job, make sure it pays year round, and that it doesn't sorta run out between Dec and March. Be sure to go there first, look around and obtain proper housing. There's is no A/C, but get a real good look at your heaters. Make sure your new place has room for a car, sheltered, as in a heated, or at least electrified garage. It can be very tough on pets, you can't let them out in minus 30 degrees, with a windchill of -60. Have your cloths ready. Talk to the locals, tell the new boss you'll need a guide to successful living in an otherwise beautiful state. Live real close to work. good luck.We are looking to move to wyoming and my husband has been offered a job in Wyoming?
FYI, you will be treated differently because you're not from there... you don't belong...
You are moving the part of the country where machismo male egos are alive and well.. go to the local watering hole, and expect to see at least one bar fight... rodeoers, roughnecks (people who work on oil rigs) and ranchers are all MACHISMO folks...
some are great people from the salt of the earth and will treat you with respect, and some will not simply for the color of your skin...
Am not trying to be harsh to you... just honest... but you better be strong, stick to your guns (pun intended) and don't take crap from anyone up there...
One of the awesome things about the area is the great proximity to the outdoors... mountains, mountains, mountains... biking, hiking, paddling, caves, hunting, fishing.. all of the wonderful beauty of the rockies will be at your fingers!
good luck!
Wyomimg will be like living on the moon......
